Mother Staples, as she was fondly called, was born on April 15, 1918 in Marion, Alabama to the late Rev. Jerry Huff and Elder Lula Belle Huff. .Mother Staples confessed Christ at an early age and was a faithful and dedicated servant of the Lord. Mother Staples was called to preach in 1959 and ordained in 1960. She was married to Elder Walter Staples (who preceded her in death), for over 40 years. Mother Staples was installed as pastor of St. Matthew United Holy Church of America where she served for 10 years. During her pastorate she licensed and released many ministers of the gospel, who are currently performing many great exploits for the Lord across the nation. After retiring from full-time pastoring, Mother Staples started the “Prayer Warriors” in 1994 in Beckley, West Virginia. She was survived by one son, Bishop Glen Staples, and 4 daughters Yvonne Nailing, Velma Aubert, Zetta Mae Gayton, Euvetta Bady, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
