A Message from our youth minister

ELDER MIKE WINGARD

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It is with great pride and honor that we offer to our congregants and the community an anointed and spirited-filled Youth & Young Adult Ministry birthed by our Bishop Glen A. Staples. We exist to reach and disciple youth & young adults in the Southeast, Washington DC-Ward 8 Corridor, who through our church will have an impact on their community mentally, physically, and spiritually.

Some churches say, “Our youth are the church of the future.” Since God values youth, The Temple of Praise believes that our youth are a part of the church of today. This means that youth are as much a part of the church as anyone else.  Within this ministry, our prayer is to discuss such topics as parental relationships, college transitioning, money management, evangelism, prayer time, call to ministry, gifts and talents, gangs, sex, homosexualism, singles parenting, interviewing skills, life skills, health and wealth, church doctrines just to name a few.  Some of the activities will be retreats, workshops, seminars, shut-ins concerts, car washes and missionary trips.

The foundation of our ministry is structured on the following five-fold mission/objective: Reverence through Worship; Reaching through Evangelism; Relationship through Fellowship; Remodeling through Discipleship and; and Relevance through Ministry. Our mission is to not only equip the youth at The Temple of Praise with life changing Christian experiences that will prepare them for what lies ahead, but also the youth associated with the metropolitan community.
